The Missing Teeth Session, May 2009

When this spring’s school portrait turned out to be a little disappointing, I decided to take matters into my own hands. This was, after all, the only time when Lewis would be missing his two front teeth. His toothless mug needed to be properly documented. Once our Sunday afternoon photo shoot got going, I couldn’t stop with just one good shot. This is a collection of my favorite fifteen images from our session. And for anyone thinking that fifteen images is a little over the top, understand that a Certain Mom thought all fifty-two shots merited inclusion in the gallery and actually threatened bodily harm if I edited the group down to less than the fifteen presented here.

The first order of business was getting up onto that high portrait stool. The Boy informed me that he didn’t need any help. He was right.
