Goldfield, NV – Saturday, December 27, 2008Goldfield, Nevada, is a historic mining town just to the east of Death Valley. Old School Packard Camper
Goldfield, NV – Saturday, December 27, 2008We came across a group of old cars which included this Packard that had been turned into an RV. Or did it come this way?

Fire Station No. 1
Goldfield, NV – Saturday, December 27, 2008We left Bend in a snowstorm fully anticipating that we would be basking in the warm sun by now. It was a little disconcerting to see all this snow piled up less than an hour from Death Valley. Still, we knew that the snow would disappear once we began dropping into the valley.
Snacker
Goldfield, NV – Saturday, December 27, 2008As it turned out, the last remnant of ice clinging to the camper fell off onto the highway as we pulled over at the entrance to the park. We appreciated the symbolism.
